In recent years we’ve become increasingly reliant on media—not just for information, but for confirmation of beliefs, tribal alignment, and other turbulent effects. At the same time, arts funding has shrunk and opportunities have tightened.

Rather than retreat, Silo Theatre treated 2024 as a year of return. A moment to make a statement.

Our aim was to create something that provoked reaction and spectacle, built around a single assertion: “You are the media you consume.”

The media we engage with shapes the ideas, values, and language we absorb. Drawing on media consumption theory—that audiences use media to satisfy specific needs—we created imagery that visualised what audiences might figuratively “consume” in Silo’s 2024 season.
